Milan Fashion Week is one of two major fashion shows still allowing real animal fur to be shown on the runway and we are turning up the heat on their latest sponsor of the show: Visa, Inc.

Why Milan Fashion Week & Visa?

Milan Fashion Week is an extremely high value target in the fight against fur. They are one of four major fashion weeks that set the trends for what the luxury fashion world is doing and they are one of two that are still allowing fur on the runways. If we can get both of these major fashion shows to go fur-free, that will shift both cultures in luxury fashion and give the real fur holdouts like LVMH less incentive to keep fur in their collections because they will no longer be able to show it on the major fashion runways.

Obstacles in the MFW Campaign

Milan Fashion Week is run by the CNMI and they are not an easy company to target because they are located in Milan Italy and their entire board of directors are more or less off limits because they are all designers that have either recently gone fur-free or are simply not going to go fur-free because they are completely dedicated to selling fur and off limits because if they were to be targeted it would be for other campaigns like CAFT’s flagship campaign against LVMH.

The Solution

Force every sponsor and every affiliate of Milan Fashion Week to abandon the show until the CNMI gets sick of the headache and caves to the pressure.

The Ask For Visa

Stop sponsoring Milan Fashion Week.

How We Beat Visa

Below are a list of angles that CAFT would like to see happen

Direct Targeting

Visa, Inc. has confirmed offices in the following cities. All of these cities will additionally have executives we could target at their homes. This is a direct and easy way to get the attention of VISA Inc. If you live in one of these cities, turn their lives upside down so that we can get them to drop MFW as a sponsored event.

Cities that could participate to win this angle:

San Francisco
Austin
Denver
Atlanta
Miami
New York
Washington
Warsaw
Munich

Board of Directors & Their Affiliates

Below is a list of the board members at Visa. Think of each independent board member as their own angle against Visa. For example, targeting Carney Global Ventures is simply a way to turn up the pressure on Lloyd Carney and get him to make his vote at the next board meeting to drop Milan Fashion Week as one of their sponsored events.

  1. Lloyd A. Carney
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carney Global Ventures, LLC
  2. Kermit R. Crawford
Independent Board Member, Visa, C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc.
  3. Francisco Javier Fernández-Carbajal
Independent Board Member Visa & Cemex
  4. Teri L. List
Independent Board Member, Visa, Lululemon, Danaher, Scholars of Finance
  5. John F. Lundgren
Independent Board Member Visa & Topgolf Callaway Brands Corp.
  6. Ryan McInerney
Executive Board Member & CEO of Visa
  7. Denise M. Morrison
Independent Board Member, Metlife, Quest Diagnostics
  8. Pamela Murphy
Independent Board Member Visa & Rockwell Automation, Inc.
  9. Linda J. Rendle
Independent Board Member & CEO of Clorox Bleech
  10. Maynard Webb
Independent Board Member Visa, SalesForce, AppLovin & Founder of Webb Investment Network

Find Your Local Visa Target

Take a look at some of the targets for the campaign below. This is far from ALL of the targets because some of the companies that the board members are a part of have thousands of companies making it not practical for CAFT to put every single one of them on a map. If you want a more comprehensive list you can search any of the companies listed above to see if you have one in your city!
