EMAIL ACTION: NEW MILAN FASHION WEEK TARGET – PORSCHE

CAFT has a new target, and I am sure you will all be as surprised as we were to find out that the German sports car company supports the killing of fur-bearing animals through its partnership with Milan Fashion Week sponsor Franciacorta Wines.

TAKE ACTION NOW

Just a few weeks ago, Milan Fashion Week was turned into a fiasco by dozens of activists who did not, and will not take “no” for an answer. During that week, activists also disrupted a panel (on sustainability no less!) with the world’s biggest fur apologist: Carlo Capasa, President of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) and called him out for refusing to implement a fur-free policy. Due to the massive media coverage of the protests during Milan Fashion Week, Capasa was forced to respond to the press and had this to say:

“As an association, we believe our task is not to impose restrictions, but to raise awareness and promote discussion, including on the issues affecting our constantly evolving system,” commented Camera Moda president Carlo Capasa. “We respect brands’ choices and do not limit creative freedom.” – Carlo Capasa

CAFT has a message for Carlo Capasa and his cronies at Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI), who run Milan Fashion Week: RESPECT EXISTENCE OR EXPECT RESISTANCE.

Sponsor Shake Down

If you deal with Milan Fashion Week you will deal with us

From this day forward, every single company that works with Milan Fashion Week in any capacity is a target of this campaign. CAFT started with Wella and DHL and both caved immediately after protests. Today is the first announcement of many revealing a batch of brand new targets for the Milan Fashion Week campaign. The new targets will either be direct sponsors like Franciacorta Wines or their partners like Porsche so that we can create pressure on the sponsors of Milan Fashion Week to abandon the prestigious Italian fashion week until it enacts a fur-free policy.

Why Porsche?

Porsche is a tertiary target to get Consorzio Franciacorta to drop Milan Fashion Week. Franciacorta is currently sponsoring a racing event called The Porsche Carrera Cup. This is a car race that Consorzio Franciacorta partners with that has events and targets all over the world and is ran by Porsche. We believe that companies have a responsibility to re-evaluate their partnerships and business relationships when those companies support unethical and cruel practices.

The Ask

We want Porsche to commit to not renew its partnership with Consorzio Franciacorta and to prohibit Franciacorta wines from being served or sold at the event.

The How

Digital Action

The best action you can take right now is on your keyboard. Please fill out the form below and send an email to the decision makers at Porsche urging them to ditch Franciacorta.

Direct Targeting

When asking nicely is not enough.
Porsche has confirmed offices in the following cities & as the writing of this blog post Bark Back ATL has already confronted Porsche at their North American Headquarters in Atlanta Georgia.

Keep in mind these are not all of the Porsche locations and you can find a location near you by doing the research yourself (which we encourage).

A Message to Activists

No action is too small. Regardless of the size, every action matters when we work together. Whether flooding the streets with protests or canvassing in front of your local Milan Fashion Week target, each individual’s contribution is part of a collective effort. In a global campaign, even one person can make a difference.

If you are looking to get started and do not know where to start, feel free to reach out to us and we will help you get the ball rolling. Email us at [email protected].

Additionally we have some big announcements coming up for weekends of action, please sign up for our mailing list to get all the details.

A Message to Porsche

Our ask is very simple: commit to not renew a partnership with Consorzio Franciacorta and you will never hear from us again. You can confirm Franciacorta’s removal by submitting it to [email protected]
